This is just one of those songs that's just silly and happy. I did tons to try to get the compressors and limiters working together and I sorta tried to get it to sound good not only on headphones but on monitor speakers and in cars and stuff... cwazy. That, and I tried to add a better drum track for flow. Enjoy, imagine, and get some friends

*grin* yea... silliness, but wicked. No... I don't mean wicked as in that it's a good song, but it has some sinisterness to it so I just made up a crappy name. Meh... couldn't be more me tonight than ever before. I just added the phase effects to the evil fuzz line, so you'd better be happy. Took me a whole stinkin' 5 minutes to set a controller for the cut so it didn't sound to shabby after that. Arrrgh, how lame

Another auditory collage of poetry, music, stories and sounds from Charles Amirkhanian’s groundbreaking radio program, “Ode To Gravity”. In this edition you will hear Charles recite a poem by Nano Valaorites, some quiet jazz music, and a short story read by its author, Mort Bennett, among other assorted aural amusements. Don’t worry about the meaning of it all just sit back and absorb the sonic vibrations.

Deaf Mix For Jake Hobo is a much-loved work from the Elevation of Anxiety sub-label which housed collabortions between Minoy and myself. This work is a pointy-jivey trapsing through Minoy's twisted recording with a who's who of 1980's home taper cameos shuttled in as nescessary. Minoy is a home-taping whirlwind out of Torrance, Califorinia in the 1980's + our EoA collaborations are over 50 varied and challenging releases still available from ZH27.org. This takes the jake hobo random thing one...

Recorded in early 1999, during Napalm Jazz's most prolific period, this is the first solo project by A_dontigny. Executed live on radio as a single improvisation using three turntables, prepared vinyls and tapes. Philémon makes a guest appearance on track two.

In this educational and erudite program, recorded on February 25, 1976, Charles Amirkhanian begins by introducing two compositions: “Inori” a work for orchestra by Karlheinz Stockhausen, who in an interview with Dutch Radio describes his disappointment with the lack of popular engagement with many of his compositional choices; and “Empty Mirror” a 1975 text-sound composition by Neil Rolnick. Charles is then joined in the studio by Joan La Barbara who presents a recording of her 1975...

This is a rather interesting mix of city sounds, ocean waves, and music. Clearly edited using bits of ambient recordings, many of which may have also been included as part of KPFA’s World Ear Project, this recording goes beyond those simple field recordings by incorporating music, chanting, news broadcasts, to create a very evocative soundscape. With its origins lost in obscurity all that is known about this unique recording is that it is an excellent example of the sort of seemingly...

On December 20, 1972, composer Annea Lockwood appeared live on Ode To Gravity. She was interviewed by Pauline Oliveros, who begins the discussion by reading a number of dreams that she has had involving Annea, although they had not actually met until this day. They go on to discuss their mutual interest in meditation, and in particular sonic meditation. Later a gathering of 30 composers and performers executed Annea's serenity-inducing event for multiple hummers. Among the many guests were Don...

On this installment of Ode to Gravity, Charles Amirkhanian unearths rare gems from Lou Harrison’s personal record collection. Amirkhanian focuses on percussion music from the late 1930s and early 1940s, broadcasting selections by American composers Harrison, Henry Cowell, Johanna Beyer and William Russell. Many of these recordings were made live at one of John Cage’s famous percussion concerts, in 1939 at the Cornish School in Seattle. The final selection features Leopold Stokowski...
